Frances Law graduated with a BA (hons) degree from Glasgow School of Art in 1980 and a master’s degree from Dundee University in 2014.
Her recent work is shaped by an exploration of the landscape. Walking is integral to her work and forms the initial framework for her research where she engages with the physicality of place recording form, textures and pattern that relate to a given environment. She employs mark making, mono-printing, collagraphy and collage to provide an interpretation of her surroundings. Her journeys through the landscape are embodied in artists books offering an alternative format which helps her to explore both the visible and invisible forces within the landscape.
