I have recently graduated from my BA Art & Design course and will be entering my BA with Honours when this exhibition begins. In my studies I have been specialising in practical work, using mediums like Acrylic and Gouache. Though in recent times I have been using Oil Paint to advance my skills and learn new painting techniques to push myself as an artist.
My subjects have recently consisted of buildings and empty spaces as I try to depict familiar spaces and places that at the same time, become unfamiliar and may never be fully recognised. They are dreamlike spaces, empty of people and yet suggestive of human inhabitants, where everything exists in a liminal state. My recent inspiration for this is Miwa Ogasawara as she truly captures a heavenly aura in a hauntingly empty area.
